Booking

  • How can I book a band van?

    Booking is easy! Click on the book now button and fill out our super quick quote form.

  • How much does it cost to hire a band van?

    Pricing varies based on factors such as the type of van, duration of hire, and any additional services requested.

  • Is insurance included in the rental fee?

    Yes all our prices include fully comprehensive insurance.

  • What do you need to confirm a hire?

    To reserve a vehicle we require a booking fee or full payment.


    Please note until this is received the vehicle is not reserved and we may take other bookings.

  • Can I make changes to my reservation?

    Changes to reservations are subject to availability and may incur fees. Contact the team as soon as possible to discuss any modifications to your booking.

Hiring & ID

  • What age do you rent to?

    Our minimum age is 25 to drive any of our vehicles. Our maximum age is 75.

  • Do I need a special driving licence?

    No. You can drive all of our vehicles on a standard UK, EU or International driving licence.

  • Are there any licence restrictions?

    Yes. You must have held your licence for a minimum of two years and not been suspended for any period within the last three years.


    A limit of two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction is allowed. No BA, DD or UT convictions and a maximum of one fault incident.

  • What ID do you require from me?

    We will carry out a full ID check before every rental. You must have the following documents to hire from us.


    Full UK, EU or International Driving Licence

    UK/EU/International Passport

    2x Proof of Address

    Credit or Debit Card

  • Do you require a security deposit?

    We require a security deposit of £1000. It is refundable within 14 days after the hire period has ended less any amounts deductible.

  • Can I add additional drivers?

    Yes. One driver is included on the insurance for free. Additional drivers are £20 each per booking.


    Additional drivers must meet the same ID and renter requirements.

Collection & Return

  • Where do I collect the vehicles from?

    Collection is from our site in Brighton UK. The postcode is BN1 8AF.


    We are located next to the A27 with quick access to all areas of the south including the M23. We are just 40mins from South London and 25mins from London Gatwick Airport.

  • When can I collect & return vehicles?

    Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.


    Saturday & Sunday by appointment only between 9am and 11am.

  • Can I leave my vehicle with you?

    Yes. There is free parking on the road directly outside.


    Alternatively we have a limited number of secure outdoor parking spaces available for £5 per vehicle per day. These must be booked in advance.


    All vehicles are left at your own risk and you keep your keys.

Vehicles

  • What types of vans are available for hire?

    Our fleet includes a variety of vans suitable for band transportation, ranging from Compact Splitters with up to 6 seats to our flagship Premium Splitters with up to 9 seats. We also hire Mini Nightliner vans with 6 seats and 6 beds!

  • Is there a mileage limit?

    No. Unlimited mileage is included as standard with every rental from BandVanHire.

  • Can I travel outside of the UK?

    Yes our vehicles can be used anywhere in Europe. 


    Our standard hire rates include the UK only but this can be extended to include Europe for an extra fee.

  • Do you have automatic vehicles?

    We have automatic and manual vehicles available. If you have a preference please state when booking. Additional fees may apply.

  • Can I drive the van myself, or do you provide a driver?

    Yes! All our vehicles are available for self drive hire. You have the option to drive the van yourself or hire a professional 3rd party driver or tour manager. We do not provide drivers directly.

  • How many people fit in one vehicle?

    All our vehicles have between 5 and 9 seats inclusive of the driver. The total number of seats is detailed on the vehicle information pages. If the vehicle is advertised as having 9 seats this is 8 passengers and 1 driver giving a total of 9.

  • What about fuel?

    All of our vehicles come with a full tank of fuel.


    Refill and pay for what you use throughout your tour and return the vehicle with a full tank at the end.

  • What safety equipment is included?

    All our vehicles include a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare bulb kit, warning triangle and high visibility vests at no extra charge.

  • Do I need to pay the congestion charge?

    Yes. It is the customers responsibility to pay all road tolls and the congestion charge.


    Our 9 seat vehicles are exempt from the congestion charge but all other size vehicles must pay.


    Please remember to pay the Dart Charge when using the Dartford crossing in any of our vehicles. 

  • Are your vehicles ULEZ compliant?

    Yes all BandVanHire vehicles meets the requirements to drive into London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) without being charged a fee.


    Our vehicles use the latest Euro 6 engines with AdBlue for the lowest emissions possible.

  • Are your vehicles compliant with all clean air zones?

    All of our vehicles use the latest Euro 6 engines with AdBlue for the lowest emissions possible. 


    Most are therefore exempt from any additional fees when travelling inside clean air zones across the UK & Europe. Please note you may still be required to register the vehicle or obtain a windscreen sticker.


    It is always the customers responsibility to check the vehicle they have hired from BandVanHire complies with the clean air zone they are entering and to pay any related fees or fines.

Trailers

  • Can I tow a trailer with a standard driving licence?

    Yes. Since 2021 when the law changed you can now tow a trailer up to 3500kg MAM on a standard licence.

  • Do I need previous experience towing?

    Previous experience driving vans and trailers is recommended. These are professional vehicles with a length of over 10 metres when the trailer is included.
